LEED 2009 Materials & Resources MR5 - Regional materials (1-2 points)
Requirements:
- Levels of achievement:
- Greater than or equal to 10% based on cost is extracted, harvested or recovered & Manufactured within a 500 miles (805 Km) radius of the project (1 point)
- Greater than or equal to 20% based on cost is extracted, harvested or recovered & Manufactured within a 500 miles (805 Km) radius of the project (2 points)
- Greater than or equal to 40% based on cost is extracted, harvested or recovered & Manufactured within a 500 miles (805 Km) radius of the project (2 points + 1 additional innovation point)
- If only a fraction of a product is sourced regionally then only that portion can claim to be regional
- Mechanical, electrical and plumbing components and speciality items such as lifts shall not be included
- Only include materials which are permanently installed in the project.
Answer:-
All WPIF member produced Particleboard, OSB and MDF use wood sourced in the country of manufacture.
