BREEAM Responsible Sourcing Answers
Issue Title: Mat 03 Responsible sourcing of materials (3 credits available)
Requirement:
80% of materials making up a building element (e.g. floor or wall) shall be responsibly sourced to gain any points. For wood and wood based products this can be FSC or PEFC certification.
Answer:-
- All WPIF member produced MDF, Particleboard, laminate flooring and OSB is FSC and in some cases additionally PEFC certified, enabling a building element to achieve the 80% of materials making up the element being responsibly sourced.
- FSC or PEFC certification will also satisfy the UK Government's Timber procurement Policy.
